7 Year old after 5 months of lessons

This is my 7 year old daughter playing a duet at her Piano Recital last year. She had only 5 months of lessons before this recital, I think she did pretty good!!

4 Year Old playing "Dreams Come True"

This is my 4 year old daughter, she's only had two lessons and can play this song. She still needs one more lesson to finish learning the bottom hand of the end pieces, but I thought she does pretty good for a 4 year old!! The song is called "Dreams Come True", and she can also sing all of the words. Have I said that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this program???

(Sorry it's poor quality, I grabbed my Blackberry to take this video)

Choosing an Instrument

You will need to have access to an instrument. When choosing a piano or keyboard, budget is often an important factor. Almost all pianos have 88 keys, and have all of the preferred benefits and features. A local piano technician or piano tuner can provide valuable advice, and can often at times assist when considering purchasing a second-hand instrument. When choosing an electronic keyboard, there are certain features to look for. The more features, the more the cost. Use the following guidelines: (in order of importance)

  • Minimum of 61 regular sized keys
  • If affordable, an 88-key digital piano or keyboard would be ideal
  • A sustain PEDAL (not button)
  • Touch sensitive keys
  • Weighted keys
If you do not have an instrument, and are unable to afford one, you may find a friend, a relative or neighbor who has an instrument, is often willing to allow you to practice on theirs.
